Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Memoa also uses localStorage, a browser-based storage mechanism that works similarly to cookies but is not sent to the server with each request.

Strictly Necessary (Authentication & Security)

• Supabase authentication cookies: Session tokens that keep you signed in securely. These are essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. They are set when you log in and expire when you log out or your session ends.

Preferences (localStorage)

• Theme preference: Stores your selected color theme (light/dark).
• UI state: Stores interface preferences such as sidebar collapse state, learned proofreading terms, and editor settings.
• These entries are stored locally in your browser and are never sent to our servers or to third parties.

Demo Mode

• Demo persona cookie: If you use our public demo mode, a cookie identifies which demo persona is active. This cookie contains no personal data and is used only to render the demo experience.

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. However, if you block the authentication cookies used by Memoa, you will not be able to sign in to the Service.

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data.
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

To clear localStorage, use your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage) or clear all site data through browser settings.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
